Harshak Patel

Founder & Head of Research, Hidden Layer

Harshak Patel runs Hidden Layer, where the work is auditing how AI systems surface — or refuse to surface — brands and products. Background in enterprise product data and catalogue intelligence. The publishing rule here is simple: every article ships with its sources, its per-fact confidence, and the claims that were cut. The methodology is public and reproducible, and that, not the byline, is the credential.

About Hidden Layer

Hidden Layer publishes when a finding survives adjudication — cadence is not the point. The audit corpus underneath the writing is: every post is grounded in the same agent-readiness audit we run as a product, scored on a single 100-point scale and applied to whatever domain the post is about.

The stack is deliberately free-tier: Common Crawl, Wayback Machine, public sitemaps, and a small set of OSS analysis tools. No paid SaaS feeds, no headless browser farms, no embargoed datasets. If a finding cannot be reproduced from public infrastructure, it does not run.

The methodology lives in the audits, not in the bios. Anyone can run the same checks on their own domain and get the same numbers. That is the credential.
